VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

I. Application & Interview Process
All potential volunteers will complete an application form and submit to CAST Volunteer Program via: CAST address, fax or email - volunteer@castla.org. CAST Volunteer Program staff will conduct application reviews, and schedule interviews to best accommodate the applicants' interests and the available volunteer positions. Successful applicants will then be notified by CAST Volunteer Program staff.

II. Orientation & Training
All volunteers are required to attend:
1-hour Orientation. The Orientation will provide general information about CAST Volunteer Program and requirements.
40-hour CAST Volunteer Training. The training is a comprehensive training curriculum designed to provide educational and practical materials in working on the issue of human trafficking and volunteering at CAST. The training covers the following topics, but not limited to: human trafficking laws, systems response, support models, shelter services, legal and social services.

III. Background Check/Fingerprint
All volunteers are required to sign a release authorizing CAST to conduct a background check at CAST's discretion. We also require all trained volunteers to submit a fingerprint card.

IV. Time Commitment
The required minimum time commitment is 4 hours per week for 6 months OR a total of 96 completed hours, whichever comes first. **Interns: time commitment is based on internship program requirements and CAST Internship Program agreement.

V. Costs (covers training materials)
40-hour Comprehensive Volunteer Training:
$40.00 - CAST volunteers
$200.00 - Professionals, non-volunteers interested in obtaining the training for professional development
**No cost to CAST Internship Program Interns
Fingerprints: varies $12 - $30
